Artistic Statement
Not unlike an ancient Japanese teamaster, whose abilities represented a great generalist knowledge, embedded in a sense of spiritual understanding and practice, and what in Buddhist terms is called right livelihood, I would like to propose a concept of artistic engagement that mirrors the understanding of the Way of Tea (Cha-do) as a way of life.
With such an understanding, the arts as commodity and industry disappear.
They become practices, open to everybody, that honor, inform, celebrate and participate in life as a creative process.
